International Workshop on Lead Free Ferroelectric Materials
The International Workshop on Lead Free Ferroelectric Materials (IWLFFM-2010) will be held in Shanghai, China, Oct.28-30, 2010. The workshop will focus on single crystals, ceramics, thin films and composites of the lead free ferroelectric materialsincluding theory & modelling, materials fabrication, characterization and practical applications.
Lead based ferroelectric Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 (PZT) ceramics are dominating more than 50 years in piezoelectric devices such as actuators, sensors and transducers for their excellent piezoelectric properties. However, ecological restrictions in many parts of the world are demanding the elimination of Pb-based materials from all consumer items. Many scientists are searching for answers on how to successfully replace Pb-based ferroelectric materials in the world. This workshop will provide a forum for scientists and engineers to exchange their recent advance and discovery on lead free materials.
Contributed abstracts are solicited that address fundamental and technology on the fabrication of lead free ferroelectric materials, new phenomena in processing and characterization, structure-property-performance relationships especial for the mechanism of piezoelectric response at the compositions of solid solution materials near the morphotropic phase boundary.
